The Ryder-Makoti Ambulance service is a cooperative service between the cities of Ryder and Makoti. This service has 22 members providing 24/7 emergency coverage for the area with the ambulance based in Makoti.
The Ryder-Makoti Fire Department is a cooperative service between the cities of Ryder and Makoti having fire stations in each town. Makoti hosts 4 trucks with the remaining 6 responding out of Ryder to include a state certified heavy rescue unit. This progresive department boasts of newer equipment and 27 members
